Behind the Scenes Tour
NiSHA's New Home

Be among the first to step inside NiSHA's future Animal Rescue & Resource Center. Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the construction site and get a firsthand look at the progress being made toward our new home for animals and the community.

Low-Cost Nail Trim Clinic
First Sunday of the Month: October 4, November 1, December 6
11 Crooked Lane, Back Parking Lot from 1pm to 4pm
NiSHA has teamed up with two excellent veterinary technicians to offer affordable nail trims to the community. Join us from 1pm to 4pm in the back parking lot of Offshore Animal Hospital at 11 Crooked Lane. No appointment necessary—first-come, first-served.
Cats are welcome between 12:30 and 1pm and must be in carriers.
Payment is $25 (cash only).
Car Rally
Sunday, September 20 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Nantucket Ice Rink
Nantucket Motorsports and NiSHA are teaming up for a Car Rally at the Nantucket Ice Rink on Sunday, September 20th. There will be food, games, music and a fantastic display of cars for all of you enthusiasts. Friendly and leashed dogs are welcome!
Black Dog Adoption Event

Location: Black Dog General Store, 40 Straight Wharf
Come meet some of NiSHA’s adoptable animals, learn more about adoption, and shop for a great cause. The Black Dog will generously donate 20% of all sales that day to NiSHA.
And in honor of our friends at The Black Dog, we’re giving a little extra love to black dogs and cats. Black-coated pets can sometimes be overlooked in shelters, but we know the color of a pet’s fur has nothing to do with the love, loyalty, and personality they bring to a family. We hope you’ll look beyond the coat and take the time to meet the wonderful animal underneath.
Blessing of the Animals

NiSHA and the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Nantucket invite you to join us for a special Blessing of the Animals celebrating the pets who bring so much love, companionship, and joy to our lives.
Bring your dogs, cats, and other beloved animal companions to receive a special blessing on the front steps of the Meeting House. All pets—and the people who love them—are welcome! Collections from the service will be donated to NiSHA.
Please keep all pets safely leashed or secured in an appropriate carrier.
